COVID-19 Safety Enhancements

We Are Open & Providing All General Dentistry Care!

For everyone these days, staying healthy is a top priority – and for many, a visit to the dentist may be far from mind. Let us assure you of two things: dentistry is an essential health service, and the dentist’s office is one of the safest places for you to visit – after all, we are designed to prevent the spread of infectious disease and we have always followed the strict mandates of the CDC and our governing Dental Associations.

At Newton Smile Centre, our first and foremost goal is to help you and your family achieve the optimal oral health that supports excellent overall health. We know that COVID-19 is very much top-of-mind and so we want to reassure you that, with everything we are doing to keep you safe, a dental practice is the most-sterile environment you can be in next to a hospital operating room.

While your dental visits are an important part of staying healthy, we understand the stresses you may be experiencing right now. To help you transition so that you can get the critical professional oral care you need and want, here’s what we’re doing to keep you safe, in addition to what we already do every day.

CDC-Approved Instrument Sterilization

Nothing has changed here – we have always, and will always, heat and pressure cleaning everything that goes near your mouth. It’s a standard procedure.

HEPA Air Filtration

Our air is cleaner than ever! Along with adding stand-alone air cleaners in each treatment room, our HVAC system now has HEPA-grade filters.

Advanced Staff Training

Keeping you, our team, and our community safe is always our priority so each of our team members have completed the training necessary to improve awareness and preparedness.

Image

Altered Patient Scheduling

So that we can allocate enough time for patients to come and go while staying physically distanced – and so we can sanitize treatment rooms between uses – we’re not seeing as many patients.

Image

Expanded Appointment Duration

To save you time and help minimize the number of times you visit our office, we’ll be offering longer appointment times so you can have more dentistry done at one visit.

Image

No Handshakes or Hugs

You miss them and so do we, but for now we’ve had to put an end to hearty hellos and goodbyes here at the practice. We do truly love you and want to keep you safe.

Image

Virtual Waiting Room

To minimize your contact with others and avoid the reception area, you can check-in for your appointment in the comfort of your car. Just go straight to your treatment room when we’re ready.

Image

No Outside Gloves Allowed

An important part of our safety plan is to minimize the chances of any cross-contamination. That’s why we’ll ask that you dispose of your gloves before entering the practice.

Image

No Magazines or Activities

It may look a little bare and less exciting but keeping all non-essential items out of our reception area makes it easier to keep our practice sterilized and is safer for you and our team.

Image

Safety Champion

Each day a different member of our team will place their focus on ensuring our safety measures. They will greet you, answer questions, ensure physical distancing, and monitor our patients and team.

Image

Daily Team Health Checks

We do more than watch your health. We also check that of our team with no-touch temperature readings and a daily quick questionnaire. We are committed to being here for you every day.

Image

Patient Pre-Screening

When you arrive at our office, we’ll do a no-touch temperature check and will complete a health questionnaire with you before your visit.

Image

Hospital-Grade Hand Sanitization Station

Before entering the clinical area of our practice, we ask that you use our hand sanitization station to thoroughly disinfect your hands.

Image

Physical Distancing in Place

With fewer chairs in our reception area, one-way foot traffic flow, and helpful signs, keeping a distance of 6 feet apart f rom others is a practical reality.

Image

Anti-Microbial Mouth Rinse

To reduce bacterial and viral load in aerosols, in addition to your regular brushing and flossing before visits, we will provide an OraCare solution for you to rinse your mouth for 60 seconds.

Image

Front Desk Masks

You’ll see the smile in their eyes as our administrative team wears their ASTM Level 3 masks while helping you with any aspect of your care or scheduling and treatment options.

N95 & ASTM Level 3 Masks

While you won’t see them, our friendly team of doctors, hygienists, and assistants will be smiling behind the double masking protective gear that helps keep you, them, and our community safe.

Image

Face Shields

As an added layer of protection, our clinical team will protect you, themselves, and our community by using FDA-approved PET face shields.

Image

Advanced Chairside Suction

To minimize aerosol contamination and improve air quality, we will activate our high-speed evacuation suction devices whenever possible.

Image

After-Appointment Cleaning

We have added to our already stringent cleaning protocols and wipe, sanitize, and disinfect all instruments, surfaces, and equipment between each patient visit.

Nightly Deep Cleaning

After cleaning all surfaces throughout the day, we take the time to thoroughly disinfect the practice from top to bottom every evening.
